Ingredients

2 cups brown rice flour

½ cup cocoa

½ tsp baking powder

½ tsp baking soda

¾ tsp xanthan gum

¼ tsp salt

½ cup raw brown sugar

½ cup walnuts chopped
-
½ cup unsweetened applesauce

¼ cup brown rice malt syrup

¾ - 1 cup almond milk
Method

Heat oven to 180 degrees. Line a square baking tray with baking paper.

Sift dry ingredients minus sugar and walnuts into a large bowl. Add in sugar and walnuts.

In a separate bowl mix together all wet ingredients.

Pour wet into dry ingredients and mix until combined.

Pour into baking pan, push into edges and smooth top.

Cook in a fan forced oven for 30 minutes. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes and slice. Brownies should have a fudgy texture and are not overly sweet. Eat warm or room temperature!
NB: Brownies can be frozen, best eaten at room temperature.
