10 minutes preparation, 20 minutes cooking time

  • 4 medium sized potatoes [around 180grms each]

  • 1 Tbsp. Potato Starch of Potato Flour

  • Salt & Pepper to taste


  • ¼ tsp. chilli flakes

  • 1 tbsp. Parsley chopped


  1. Cook potatoes whole either in microwave or stove top. For microwave pierce with fork and wrap each individual potato in paper towel. Place in microwave for 4-5 minutes until just under cooked. For stove top par boil potatoes in boiling water for 15 minutes. Whichever method you use please make sure that you under cook the potato because you want it to hold its shape once grated.

  2. Let potatoes cool for 10 – 20 minutes until you can handle them and then grate them.

  3. For plain hashbrowns mix together grated potato, starch/flour, salt & pepper. Add optional items if you want something a little spicier. Mix gently, divide into four and form into hashbrowns; I chose squares for mine.

  4. Cook over medium heat for two minutes each side or until golden brown. Enjoy!
